The Michelle Louise School of Dance was established in October 2005. Principle Michelle Louise is a Fellowship member of The British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
At the school pupils have the chance to learn different styles of dance including Modern Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Freestyle and Acrobatics. Lessons take place weekly throughout the year and children are encouraged to attend as many lessons as possible throughout the week in order to attain a high standard of dance technique.
Those pupils who attend frequently have the opportunity to take part in competitions, our yearly dance show, and pupils who achieve good levels of technique and performance will be put forward for examinations with The British Association of Teachers of Dancing
Over the last four years pupils from the school have performed in various showcases and events alongside some famous faces including Aladdin at The Lowry Theatre (Pele Productions) December 2006 – January 2007 and Dick Whittington at The Lowry Theatre (Pele Productions) December 2007 – January 2008
Pupils have also had the opportunity to perform on various stages including The Opera House, Winter Gardens, Blackpool – Civic Theatre, Ellesmere Port, Liverpool. Pupils from the school have also performed in Scotland, Birmingham and Newcastle.
